The article reveals the urgency of the problem of training of the modern specialists in the field of individualization and tutoring. It articulates the existing contradictions of the modern domestic educational system in the context of training specialists of this profile. The analysis of the current professional standard of tutors, open vacancies in this field and the requirements for the specialists in this area, as well as educational programs for training professionals in the field of tutoring and individualization, currently being implemented in Russia, is given. Based on the analysis, as well as the current world trends in the social sphere in general and in education in particular, the authors offer a new perspective for the structure and content of the competency model of a tutor. The proposed model is based on the widely disseminated concept of the division of soft skills and hard skills and the integration of this approach with the already established practice of training specialists in the field of individualization and tutoring in our country in the last 10 years. The model described includes four blocks, consisting of a list of spheres, in which a professional tutor must have a certain level of competence development. The authors condense down the content of each of the blocks of the proposed model and the main approaches to implementation of training within the framework of this concept. In conclusion, the authors point that it is necessary to develop approaches to the professional training of specialists in the field of individualization and tutoring and integrate the world’s leading achievements and practices in the field of education and human sciences with existing domestic educational programs.
