The article presents the results of monitoring the physical development of older preschool children living in Tula. The longitudinal study of the main indicators of physical and motor development of preschool children conducted for more than ten years allowed the authors to identify a number of changes related to the age norms of children’s development and their evaluation. Experts in the field of preschool education note the need to revise the age norms of development, taking into account the individual characteristics of each child. Even more acute is the question of the differentiation of the concepts of “norm” and “deviation from the norm”, of the fine line that distinguishes one from the other. In this connection, the authors attempted to revise the boundaries of the “norm” of physical and motor development of older preschool children. Among the various factors affecting the development of children, it is necessary to highlight the features of the environmental, social and economic situation of the region in which the child lives. The article presents a detailed analysis of these factors on the example of Tula, in particular the impact of unfavorable environmental and demographic situation of the Tula region. The main somatometric indicators of physical development of children of six years (length and weight, chest circumference) and their physical fitness (results in running 10 meters on the move, long jump from a place, throwing at a distance with the right hand, static balance on one leg, leaning forward from a standing position) are presented. These indicators were recorded in 2004, 2010, and 2015. |
