The relevance of the study is determined by significant changes in the socio‑cultural, economic, educational situation in the country and the needs of society in the development of socially active youth. Volunteering is a voluntary, gratuitous, socially significant activity that contributes to the development of the subject of social activity. Youth as a socio‑demographic group forms the backbone of volunteerism in modern Russia. Involvement of young people in social practice is already a prerequisite for modern society. The growing role of volunteer (voluntary) activities in the country, the growing involvement of young people in other practices of the functioning of civil society, require the development of theoretical bases in the scientific and methodological support of modern personal support in colleges. In sociology, pedagogy and psychology, theoretical and empirical research is being expanded to study and systematically describe this phenomenon. A significant share of research is focused on the motivation of volunteers, but the aspect of volunteers’ personality and socio‑psychological qualities is not sufficiently developed. It is necessary to study empirically the supposed high pedagogical, educational, socializing potential of volunteering. The involvement of young people in social practice is already for modern society. The content of the article describes the results of the study, objectifying the differences between the participants of the public association “Victory Volunteers” and students of the historical profile of the pedagogical institute. The instrumentation used is O.I. Motkov’s method “Self‑analysis of personality.” Established statistically significant differences in all scales of the methodology the activity of moral position, collectivism, citizenship in work, hard work, volitional qualities. Assistance to society in the form of volunteer activity as gaining experience of independent public participation in an open social environment can contribute to the development of socially significant personal qualities and the formation of the subject of social activity. There is a need to continue research in a longitudinal format. |
