The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is the largest constituent entity of the Russian Federation. The territory of this region occupies about 35% of the entire Arctic of Russia, and more than 50% of the republic is located outside the Arctic Circle. The absence of the year‑round, stable and economical transport communications within the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) makes the transport infrastructure undeveloped, isolated from transport networks, weakly internally accessible, and highly dependent on the seasonal factor [1]. This article reviewed the problems of food products deficit and the remoteness of the Arctic and northern regions of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) from the industrialized regions of the Russian Federation with the use of materials of public corporation “Tuymaada‑Agrosnab”, statistical data of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), etc. Demographic factors in the northern and arctic regions of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) were studied. The financial condition of public corporation “Tuymaada‑Agrosnab” was analyzed; actual and planned volume of products (potatoes, vegetables and fish products) were calculated and identified, which are imported and exported by Tuimaada‑Agrosnab in the Arctic and northern regions of Yakutia. Based on the study, the authors propose to improve the already existing project of the enterprise aimed at development of the transport and logistics system by including the dairy products for children in the “northern delivery” program. The need of importation of dairy products for children in the arctic and northern regions is justifiede; the annual consumption rate by the age categories is calculated. The improvement of the project, first of all, is aimed at providing baby food, which the children of the Arctic and northern regions of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) need.
