Annotation:

In the modern world, lifelong lasting education is becoming a permanent process, in which the retired people are being actively involved, therefore the students of the Silver University are above 55 years. In this aspect, it is essential not only to draw up an educational route, but also to set up a system of tutorial support, taking into account the individual and age characteristics of students. The basis of tutorial support for students at Silver University is to arrange the work taking into account the students’ background (educational, professional, social, etc.) with the aim of expanding the personal capabilities of tutorants, lining up the road towards success. The professional tutor, working with such audience, should be focused not only on assisting to draw up an individual educational program, providing support in the following of an individual educational route, but also on continuously maintaining the balance between the real capabilities of the tutorant and the volume of his request. The main form of tutor’s support is tutorial. To study the specifics of organizing and conducting tutorials with development and implementation of an individual educational route for Silver University students, such methods as reviewing scientific literature, analyzing professional activities of a tutor, observing and conducting a sociological survey were used. The professional tasks of the tutor were inductively determined; a micro-study was conducted resulted in identification of three blocks of topics relevant for students of a certain age group. The article presents the basic principles, means and methods of working with this target audience; a technological map based on the results of the study for conducting a tutorial with students of Silver University is presented as an example.
