THE ROLE OF TOURISM IN THE CONTEXT OF ECONOMIC SECURITY

Economic security is a significant component of the overall national security, which directly affects the successful development of the state. To achieve economic security, it is necessary to minimize the risks and factors that have a negative impact on the economic sphere by making optimal use of the potential of various sectors of the national economy. This paper considers the economic importance of tourism and the tourism industry in ensuring economic security of subjects at different levels. From the author’s point of view, the use of tourism as an economic tool will make it possible to have a positive impact on society, enterprises and territorial associations by diversifying risks, developing infrastructure, improving the image and other aspects. At the same time, there is a risk of different types of externalities due to environmental and social problems associated with the specifics of tourism activities. The purpose of this work is to consider the importance of all levels of tourism in the context of economic security. To achieve this goal, the authors identified the levels of economic security of tourism, considered the contribution of tourism to economic development, identified the main consequences of development of the tourism industry, and proposed the main directions for better ensuring economic security. The research is based on the analysis of scientific literature in the field of enterprise Economics and economic security, as well as on statistical data. As a result, the main key aspects that determine the importance of tourism and its development for economic security were identified, which allows us to collect the necessary base that allows us to further study the problem under study and identify the impact of individual components of tourism and the tourism industry on economic security.
