MARKETING TASKS FOR TOURISM INDUSTRY OF SYRIA

The problem of tourism development in Syria is unique; it has no analogues and developed solutions. The country has extremely attractive natural and climatic conditions and cultural and historical attractions, but for almost a decade, hostilities have been waged in part of the territory. At the same time, the government of the country seeks to preserve the industry, which has achieved noticeable success in the previous period, having made a contribution to the economy and having managed to form significant material and human resources, and sets forward-looking tasks for it. The purpose of the article is to identify the topical marketing challenges in the tourism industry in Syria. In the course of the study, mainly descriptive methods were used, the conclusions are based on the analysis of scientific literature and the logical generalization of the provisions stated in the works of the researchers. The current state of tourism in Syria and the results achieved by the industry in the previous period are characterized. The key provisions of the modern marketing concept that should be taken into account when restoring the tourism industry in the country and attracting a tourist flow have been identified. The elements of a set of promotion are analyzed from the point of view of interaction of tourist organizations with the target market. The specifics of the conditions in which tourism organizations will have to carry out activities are disclosed. The role of the state in solving the problems of the industry is shown and conditions are revealed under which the stimulation of the industry by the state can be effective. Based on the results of the study, conclusions were drawn about the need for cooperation between the state and the private sector in the field of tourism marketing, including in conducting marketing research. Recommendations are given on the formation of a marketing complex in travel companies.
