Annotation:

The modern stage of development of society requires from the educational system of upbringing a developed personality, ready for dialogue in a multinational society, capable of strengthening and developing intercultural and interethnic ties, realizing the importance of technologies of coexistence and partnership of large and small nations, harmonization of interethnic interaction. The modern stage of society development requires the educational system to educate a developed personality, ready for dialogue in a multinational society, capable of strengthening and developing intercultural and international relations, aware of the importance of technologies of coexistence and partnership of large and small nations, harmonization of inter-ethnic interaction. This article reveals the relevance of multicultural education. The meaning of the concept of “multicultural education” is described, its goals, objectives, functions and content are considered. The importance of organizing multicultural education in a multinational region is grounded. The views of researchers on the problem of multicultural education and its features are presented. An understanding of the specifics of multicultural education as a direction in a professional school is given. The features and effectiveness of multicultural education of students in a pedagogical university are described. The necessity to organize a multicultural educational process in professional educational institutions of Crimea as a multinational region is considered. The features of the formation of ethno-cultural competence of future primary school teachers in the framework of the multicultural educational space created in a vocational educational institution are analyzed. The main requirements for ensuring the availability of educational services in a multicultural region are considered. The paper notes that the national and regional characteristics of the educational system determine the level of ethno-pedagogical competence and professionalism of the teacher. The ethno-pedagogical competence of future teachers is considered on the basis of the cultural heritage of a multinational region, which allows us to talk about the multicultural aspect of education and upbringing. The key features of the ethno-pedagogically competent personality of the teacher, its characteristics and the ability to effectively build their own professional activities within the framework of the multicultural educational space are presented. The importance of the multicultural space in the development of personal and professional qualities of primary school teachers for their further pedagogical activity is theoretically substantiated.
