Annotation:

The article deals with the methods of increasing students’ motivation for learning in the context of online learning. Professors faced the problem of lower motivation for learning among students due to the transition to distance education. When planning the work, the academic staff paid more attention to the principles of creating online courses, forms of presentation of learning materials and the system of knowledge assessment. The experience in distance work resulted in the conclusion that it is impossible to achieve high quality acquisition of knowledge if students have difficulties due to the weak volitional self-regulation and are not fully involved in the educational process. The methods of purposeful increasing of students’ motivation for learning are considered in this study. The article includes the substantiation of the need to create a system of measures aimed at increasing interest in acquiring knowledge in an online course. As a result of the conducted study, it is possible to conclude that learning in online courses involves a sharp increase in the amount of work that students must do on their own. The efficiency of the educational process depends on the conscious attitude of students to work: they must remain focused and willing to receive information, realize their responsibility for the quality of received knowledge. The quality of work depends also on professors. To create an effective system of measures increasing the students’ motivation for learning, it is important for professors to organize online courses in such a way that they could assess the students’ interest at each stage and take the necessary actions to encourage self-realization of students even when difficulties arise. The results of the conducted study can be used for a more in-depth study of the methods of increasing students’ motivation for learning in the context of distance education.
