Show jumping is a competition that requires a high degree of skill on the part of the rider and absolute obedience on the part of the horse when negotiating obstacles. The rider’s technique plays an important role: steering precision, clear and timely changes in leg, arm and body position at all stages are necessary. It is important to control the technique of landing, to increase the “sense of balance”. The rider should be ready to come to the horse’s aid, compensating for mistakes with the action of the reins and legs, freely control his/her body and feel the horse’s position at the stages of the jump. It is necessary to find the rhythm of movement along the route, allowing the horse to concentrate in front of the obstacle. The animal needs to develop obedience and plasticity, strength and coordination, the ability to maintain balance in a jump. It is necessary to strengthen its conditioned reflexes, developed with the help of incentives. The rider must react quickly in difficult situations, soberly calculate the strength and abilities of the horse, and be able to gently impose his will on the horse. An athlete’s training should be versatile: special training on a horse alone is not enough, strength exercises are necessary. The solution of tactical tasks is connected with performance at competitions. Usually, before the start, the rider becomes familiar with the general conditions, which enables him/her to plan the performance, taking into account the characteristics of the ground, the shape, size, color of the obstacles, the number of competitors, and the competitors’ preparedness. To overcome obstacles, the competitor must achieve complete unity with the horse and be able to use all the controls at the right time. There is a need to find effective approaches to the preparation of the “athlete — horse” pair at the stage of sports advancement in show jumping. In the course of the research, the relevant special literature, scientific and program-methodical materials were analyzed. A pedagogical study and experiment were conducted. A set of physical exercises is proposed that contributes to the improvement of the technical readiness of both the rider and the horse in show jumping at the stage of sports advancement. The process of training the riders of the experimental group consisted in the introduction of special exercises that contributed to the intensification of the sports and technical readiness of the “sports pair” in show jumping. Classes in the control group were carried out according to the traditional method. The results obtained demonstrated the high efficiency of the proposed approach. Those engaged in the experimental program showed a statistically significant increase in tests, which proves the effectiveness of the proposed approach. |
