DAPTATION OF STUDENTS AS A CONDITION FOR ENSURING THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION IN DISTANCE FORMAT

Annotation:

The introduction of distance elements in the educational process is an integral part of the information technology age. Periodically there arise events that push the society to intensify this process. One of them was the COVID-19 pandemic, associated with certain restrictions on the implementation of the education process in a traditional format. The active implementation of information educational technologies revealed a number of problems associated with the transition to a distance learning format. One of them was the problem of adaptation of correspondence students to it as a necessary condition for the further implementation of the educational process. This article presents materials from a study on the adaptation of correspondence department students at Sholom-Aleichem Priamursky State University (the direction “Pedagogical Education”, “Geography”), to the transition to a distance learning format. The success of the adaptation was assessed subjectively, based on the results of a survey of students in the experimental group. The leading reason for choosing the experimental group was that the correspondence department accounts for the bulk of nonresident students and older students, who have a more difficult time adapting to working with information technology. The survey was conducted at the beginning of the transition to a distance format and after a three-year period from the date of its implementation. The connection between the successful adaptation of correspondence students and the quality of their education in professional disciplines is shown. Analysis of the results obtained shows, that the distance learning format, provided that the student community successfully adapts to it, can be quite effective and ensure the maintenance of the quality of the educational process.
