BULLYING AND CYBERBULLYING: DIRECTIONS OF PREVENTIVE ACTIVITIES IN MODERN CONDITIONS

The introduction addresses the problems of contemporary practices in preventing bullying and cyberbullying in educational institutions. The author identifies two important objectives: to analyze the obtained quantitative data and to identify prospective solutions to bullying and cyberbullying issues in the current conditions. Based on the analysis of theoretical studies, the author concludes about the significance of studying the current state of bullying and cyberbullying from the perspective of quantitative measurements of this dynamically changing phenomenon. Therefore, the author presents the results of their own sociological study conducted among students in general education schools, vocational schools, and universities, involving 3000 respondents who have encountered bullying in the educational environment in one of its forms. From the results of the sociological study, the author highlights several important aspects. For instance, the author demonstrates significant contextual differences between cyberbullying and bullying, indicating variations in perceptions of problem-solving strategies for bullying and cyberbullying. By focusing on the comparison of respondents’ perceptions of who can solve the problem of bullying and cyberbullying in the educational environment and who students are willing to turn to in the first place, the author concludes that educational institution representatives have high potential, but students are not ready to approach them. Analyzing the existing practices of organizing bullying and cyberbullying prevention, the author concludes that in the current conditions, there is no other way to solve the problems associated with bullying and cyberbullying in the educational environment except by extending efforts to prevent them.
