PROSPECTS OF USING DIGITAL TOOLS IN THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

The article is devoted to the study of possibilities to increase the effectiveness of the educational process in higher educational institutions by teaching students the correct use of new digital technologies. The authors conduct a complex comprehensive analysis of the application of digital educational technologies in the Volgograd Institute of Management — branch of RANEPA, including a survey of 189 full-time students, as well as monitoring the organization of different events. The authors identify the advantages of innovations tested at the Volgograd Institute of Management in 2023 and propose possible ways to solve the difficulties, noticed during the implementation of new information technologies in the educational process. Such ways may include, for example, updating the curricula of such disciplines as computer science, considering their focus on practical exercises and on the performance of students’ creative reproductive tasks or implementation of new disciplines, such as “Digital Society”. Also, the necessary measure to increase the involvement of students in cultural and mass events, according to the authors, is to train students to use such Russian electronic services as «Yandex Forms» and «Yandex Telemost». In general, the results of the survey showed that the level of digital skills of junior students, studying in the Volgograd Institute of Management, has increased in comparison with the data obtained by the authors in an earlier similar survey of students in 2019-2021. This probably happened because of the new measures supporting the digitalization of the educational environment implemented in our country at the state level, as well as teachers’ accumulation of distance learning experience, gained during the coronavirus pandemic.
