This article discusses the issue of the application of project technology in teaching a foreign language. Within the framework of the question, the views of domestic and foreign researchers are presented, the requirements for this pedagogical technology and the classification of projects are considered. The relevance of the considered pedagogical technology is determined. It is obvious that in the modern world projects in all spheres of human activity — economic, political, social, educational, etc. — are becoming more and more in demand as an effective means to achieve set goals and objectives. In teaching foreign languages, especially in recent years, this method plays an important role. The analysis of the international project implemented in practice in accordance with E. S. Polat`s projects classification is carried out. The advantages of the studied pedagogical technology identified during the project are described. First of all, in the process of participating in the project, students overcome their fear of making a mistake in speech, find new opportunities to express themselves, expand their linguistic and cultural knowledge. Another advantage of this method is the ability to communicate in a foreign language with teachers and students from different countries. It is shown that the use of project technology contributes to the formation of communicative competence and competence of social interaction, as well as increases motivation to learn foreign languages. |
