PRACTICAL METHODS FOR ASSESSING THE LEVEL OF THREATS TO ECONOMIC SECURITY OF THE SHADOW SECTOR ASSOCIATED WITH DRUG TRAFFICKING

The conducted research is devoted to the analysis of theoretical aspects of such a negative phenomenon as drug trafficking in the format of the genesis of the shadow economy, as well as the development of practical methods for assessing the level of threats to economic security in order to prevent their consequences, and the development of a set of measures for the effective implementation of state policy in the field of countering illicit drug trafficking. The study showed that at the present stage, drug trafficking is an independent branch of the shadow economy, bringing its participants stable potentially high benefits realized through the application of the basic economic laws of legal activity. In this regard, it is necessary to take into account the significant impact on crime of economic factors, as well as the emergence, on this basis, of dangers to economic security of a new kind. To date, the issue of integration of legal laws of the economy, their functioning in shadow criminal activity, as well as the degree of assessment of the impact of such a hybrid on the legal sector of the economy has not been sufficiently studied by state, economic and public institutions of various directions. Considering the above, the paper emphasizes the need to develop a methodology for assessing the level of threats to economic of security from the shadow sector, in the context of analyzing its threats associated with drug trafficking — the main source of the “hidden” segment of the economy. The development of the methodology was carried out in stages and sequentially, with the solution of a specific problem at each stage, using mathematical, analytical and statistical tools. The result of the study is the construction of a model with the help of which it is possible to calculate the level of threats to economic security of the subjects of the shadow economy in the field of drug trafficking.
