THE VALUE OF FAMILY TRADITIONS AMONG MODERN SCHOOLCHILDREN

In the article, the author examines the problem of the value of family traditions among modern schoolchildren. The relevance of this topic is due to the fact that a person’s family traditions are laid down from the moment of birth and accompany him throughout his life. At any time, changing the status of the institution of the family, family values, traditions and building a new social institution encounters powerful opposition from the bearers of already existing ideas and worldviews. This is most characteristically manifested in the “crisis moments” of history and the moments of globalization. Characteristic changes today have affected the concept of “modern family”, the traditional understanding of which can no longer be interpreted as it was several decades ago. Unfortunately, the adult population of Russia is not ready to explain the events of real life due to their standardized understanding of what is due. In combination with cultural expansion coming from abroad, the goals of family education are blurred, which in this situation are either based on previous family traditions or are not formulated in any way, which leads to the rejection of purposeful socialization of children, granting freedom to influence them all the disparate and contradictory effects of the surrounding social environment. Therefore, the preservation of family traditions and their gradual transformation under the influence of conscious information about ongoing social changes in society is the most acceptable way to develop socialization and upbringing of children in the family. In modern Russian society, there is an increasing need to support families, children and family traditions, which are being transformed by changes in society and public relations. In the article, the author presents the results of a test study of the raised problem and conclusions for maintaining family traditions and family values. The study consists of methods of observation, questioning and testing of schoolchildren. This article may be useful for students of pedagogical universities, young and experienced teachers of educational institutions.
