In the modern world it is difficult to imagine a
schoolchild who does not take part in Olympiads. A large
number of students are involved in the Olympiads by their
teachers because they see the potential and the way to develop
it. Subject Olympiads are an integral part of modern education,
as they help to develop the intellectual potential of students.
Subject Olympiad is a competition of students in general
education subjects, which helps to identify talented students. Unfortunately, this was not always the case; in the 1990s
there was a sharp decline in the interest of schoolchildren in
natural sciences, along with this, the city Olympiads and team
competitions in physics, so beloved by many, ceased to exist.
All this led to the urgent need to introduce a new format of
Olympiads to attract students’ attention to natural sciences
and to solve the problem of lower competition in physics and
technical specialties.
At the Physics Department of Bashkir State University, a
group was formed under the lead of E. G. Ekomasov. This group,
consisting of former participants of Olympiads of various levels,
took on an ambitious goal to transform the current approach to
holding Physics Olympiads.
This article discusses the advantages of an innovative
format of the team Physics Olympiad —Ufa Physics Cup, as
well as the statistics of successful problem solving and the
dynamics of the teams participating in Ufa Physics Cup, as
well as statistics of successful problem solving and dynamics
of the teams that participated in the tournament. During
the research such methods as analysis of pedagogical and
methodical literature, pedagogical observation and expert
evaluation were used. |
