EDUCATIONAL, DEVELOPMENTAL AND UPBRIGING FUNCTIONS OF ILLUSTRATIVE MATERIAL IN CHINESE LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE TEXTBOOKS FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL

Annotation: The article presents the results of the author’s repeated scientific internships in the People’s Republic of China in order to study the educational model implemented in educational institutions of the Middle Kingdom. The opportunity provided by Chinese colleagues allowed the author to collect material significant for Russian pedagogical science and, in particular, to study the substantive and artistic components in Chinese language and literature textbooks. The author analyzed the illustrative series and its correspondence to the content of educational texts in textbooks used by Chinese teachers in the process of teaching primary school students. The analysis of this important component of the educational and methodological complex of the educational model of China made it possible to substantiate the importance of illustrative material in textbooks on Chinese language and literature for the effective organization of the learning process of primary school students, especially the junior level. The author argues for the special importance of artistic images created by Chinese artists and designers in the process of teaching natal school students and highlights the educational, developmental and educational functions of illustrative material in textbooks on Chinese language and literature, such as: developing the ability to meaningfully read text, the formation of aesthetic perception of illustrative material, the development of imagination and fantasy of younger schoolchildren and awakening in children persistent interest in reading. The article analyzes the work of Chinese researchers who reveal the problems of illustrative design of textbooks for younger schoolchildren. The practical material presented in the article (illustrations from Chinese textbooks of the National Education publishing house, a description of methodological techniques for their use in the educational process, etc.) can be used in the process of teaching primary school teachers and graphic artists in Russian universities, and will also be useful for practicing teachers.
