In today’s world, information technologies are the
basis for solving the most complex problems of planning, management,
and implementation of plans in all spheres of human activity.
Training of specialists with knowledge and skills in the field of
information technology is carried out in educational institutions,
primarily in technical schools, institutes and universities. In order
to train such specialists, educational institutions have been introducing
various so-called information disciplines into their curricula
and training programs for several years — along with the classic
traditional Computer Science, these are Information Technologies
(in various versions), Research of Control Systems, Artificial Intelligence
Systems and others.
The purpose of the study is to determine the optimal ways to
solve methodical, methodological, financial, organizational and
other problems that were identified in the process of teaching the
discipline “Information Technologies in Transport” at the Nizhny
Novgorod Institute of Railway Engineering branch of Volga State
Transport University in recent academic years in order to improve
the quality and optimize the educational process.
The work is based on the analysis of the pedagogical experience
gained by the teaching staff in the course of teaching the
discipline “Information Technologies in Transport” since 2020,
as well as on the analysis of the results of studying the opinions
of students by surveying them over the past two academic years. The results of the survey of teachers and students revealed a
number of problems that complicate the process of both teaching and
mastering this discipline by students, and in different academic years,
students of different specialties noted almost the same difficulties.
The analysis of the identified problems and difficulties
made it possible to identify and substantiate proposals and
recommendations for optimizing the educational process. The
implementation of these proposals will significantly improve the
quality of teaching by teachers and the degree of assimilation
of educational material by students; improve the educational
process at the university as a whole. |
