Pedagogues and psychologists pay much attention
to the problem of the family, since the family is one of the most
important institutions of socialization and upbringing of the child.
In the family the child forms values, norms of behavior; develops
the ability to recognize their emotions and the emotions of other
people, which allows establishing relationships between parents,
brothers and sisters, grandparents. In the family, the child acquires
and accumulates their personal life experience of communicating
with others. Most children with disabilities live at home with their
parents. Such a family has a special status, since, on the one hand,
problems associated with the personal characteristics of the
child and the nature of the relationship between family members
are determined, on the other hand, the family is characterized
by isolation from other people and a lack of communication
outside the family. In the work, based on the theoretical analysis
of scientific approaches and methods, conducting an empirical
study, the results of personal characteristics of family members,
emotional relationships of close people with a child with
disabilities, their idea of themself (I-concept) are presented. In
the course of the empirical study, it was revealed that adolescents
with disabilities and gymnasium students accept themselves as
they are; for families of both samples, directiveness on the part of
one of the parents is typical, which is based solely on ambitious
demands on the child. Teenagers with disabilities perceive mothers
and fathers more positively in relation to other family members.
A strong emotional attachment to the mother was revealed among
teenagers of the gymnasium, while fathers more often display
directiveness and hostility. |
