The article examines the main aspects of the participation
of senior schoolchildren and students of secondary
vocational education in the development of the project of the
future museum and educational space “Mechanical Workshops”
based on the T. F. Gorbachev Kuzbass State Technical
University. The authors consider participatory design as an activity that leads to the emergence of the author’s action of
senior schoolchildren and students of secondary vocational
education regarding the achievement of the goal — a common
search for ways to implement the plan, based on which participatory
design is one of the effective pedagogical tools aimed at
the formation of the subject position of students.
As part of the participatory work on the project, a ramified set
of methods and ways to achieve educational goals and objectives
was used, part of which is a facilitation session. Facilitation as
a method of participatory design creates an atmosphere of trust,
which contributes to the construction of strong connections between
the participants of the session, while stimulating unconventional
thinking and creativity of each participant. The facilitation session
is aimed at forming a horizontal structure of work on the project
through agreed group interests using such categories as communication,
fruitfulness, profitability, productivity, effectiveness.
The designated categories allow increasing the speed and efficiency
of the processes of educating through upbringing and upbringing
through educating, based on the recognition of the subjectivity
of the participants in the designated processes through the personal
significance of what is happening for themselves. All stages of
a targeted facilitation session — from setting genuine, real goals
through approval, acceptance and trust to empathic understanding
are aimed, first of all, at updating the subjective position. |
