Scientists emphasize the deep historical ties between Russia and Uzbekistan, which date back to the times of the Russian Empire. In particular, the influence of Russian culture, education and language on the development of Uzbekistan is noted. Modern relations between the two countries are characterized as friendly and strategic, with an emphasis on economic, political and cultural cooperation, which confirms the relevance of the issue under consideration. In this article, we have developed a methodology for assessing the interaction of countries in priority areas of socio-economic development of national economies, which was the purpose of the study. We have completed the following tasks in conducting scientific research: a methodology for assessing the relationship between Russia and Uzbekistan has been developed, which will enable managers to identify the possibilities and effectiveness of using the existing combined potential of the economies of the states; factors influencing the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries have been identified; problems of national economies and their prospects for joint cooperation have been identified. The most important factors affecting relations between the two countries include: Uzbekistan borders Kazakhstan, which has close ties with the Russian Federation; Russia is one of Uzbekistan’s largest trading partners; Uzbekistan’s social and cultural life is deeply connected with Russia; both countries see each other as important partners in the region. In this article, we have identified the prerequisites for a detailed study of the relationship between the national economies of the two countries: relations between the countries may be affected by political and social problems prevailing in Central Asia; despite efforts to strengthen economic ties, there are obstacles such as lack of economic diversification, lack of infrastructure and low investment levels. |
