The high length of the country’s transport arteries,
the significant cargo turnover of transported raw materials and
industrial goods requires significant costs for the energy supply of
this process, annually measured in trillions of rubles. The current
system of supplying consumers with fuel and lubricants includes oil
refineries, wholesale bases and storage facilities, as well as a retail link represented by gas stations. Given the complexity of such a
system distributed throughout the country, and the lack of adequate
organizational and technical solutions, the energy supply sector
has traditionally been subject to criminalization, which negatively
affected the work of the entire economic mechanism of the state.
However, the search for a solution to this problem over time led
to the desired results. First, the introduction of fuel coupons, and
then — payment of fuel and lubricants using plastic cards (fuel processing)
gradually brought this area of activity out of the shadow
sector of the economy. Modern technical means allow controlling
gas stations and traffic along the route and have helped to resolve
such issues as paying for fuel by bank transfer with the offset of value
added tax, fraud at gas stations, , use of official cars for personal
purposes, draining “excess” fuel from the fuel tank at inflated
consumption rates and many others. By skillfully combining the
usability of fuel cards with the benefits provided to consumers by
processing companies, their owners increase loyalty to their own
brands, which entails an increase in the sustainability of the energy
supply of the transport sector as a whole.
The article provides a justification for the motives that guided
energy supply companies in introducing new approaches to
consumer service provided by digitalization and the development
of elements of the concept of the new industrial revolution,
as well as reveals the content and advantages of fuel processing,
an innovative technology for energy supply to consumers in the
retail sector. |
