Annotation:

The relevance of the study is determined by the need to study the current problems of training teachers of preschool educational organizations to effectively implement the tasks of STEAM education in working with preschool children. The article reflects the main results of a survey of teachers whose activities for a number of years are associated with the implementation of partial programs included in the STEAM technology cycle. The purpose of the article is to analyze the features and outline the specifics of topical issues of training teachers to implement the tasks of STEAM education. The research methodology consists of the works of I. I. Ashmarin, S. L. Bratchenko, A. D. Maidansky, E. G. Yudina, defining the specification of conditions, mechanisms, and patterns of training teachers for professional activity. Based on the systemic methodology, the problems of teacher readiness to effectively solve the problems of early engineering education of preschool children are logically substantiated, which is the basis for the subsequent design of individually oriented self-development programs and additional professional education in relevant areas. In the practical part of the study, the authors substantiate the specific features of the relationship between the problems of training and the professional positions of participants in educational relations. The conducted research is based on the use of a set of complementary methods of theoretical and empirical levels. The methodological tools of the research include questionnaires, content analysis, correlation analysis, and modeling. To study the topical issues of training teachers to implement the tasks of STEAM education in working with preschool children, we used the questionnaire method, as well as content analysis and self-analysis of teachers. To confirm the empirical conclusions, the authors also used methods of correlation analysis of the data obtained. The data obtained during the study can serve as a starting point for the development of systematic work to prepare educators for the implementation of STEAM education. The study provides a practically significant basis for the targeted modernization of the system for training teaching staff capable of effectively implementing innovative STEAM education approaches already at the preschool stage.
