PEDAGOGICAL ASPECTS OF USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TECHNOLOGIES IN THE PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY OF A PRIMARY EDUCATION TEACHER

Annotation: This article explores the pedagogical aspects (potentials, problems, disadvantages, advantages, challenges, and specific features) of using artificial intelligence (hereinafter referred to as AI) technologies in the professional activity of primary school teachers (grades 1-4 in the Russian Federation’s national educational system). The article analyzes the work of Russian and international researchers on the use of artificial intelligence in teaching primary school students. Based on a review of various bibliographic and scientific studies, as well as regulatory and legal acts governing the informatization and transformation of modern education, the article identifies aspects of integrating digital solutions into the educational process. Modern primary school students are members of Generation Alpha (children born in the era of the full penetration of digital technologies; they are fluent in smartphones, tablets, and computers practically from infancy; Generation Alpha is also called the first true generation of the digital world), and therefore, aspects of their education using AI technologies are discussed. A 10-question survey of primary school teachers in urban and rural educational institutions in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic was developed, along with a comparative analysis of the data obtained on some illustrative questions in graphical and diagrammatic form. Based on the survey results, the authors of this study, in accordance with the requests of the majority of the teachers surveyed, developed an additional professional educational program – a professional development program, “Artificial Intelligence Technologies in the Professional Activity of Primary School Teachers” – and conducted two master classes: “Generation Theory. Alpha Generation Children” and “Artificial Intelligence Technologies for Everyone.” Currently, work is underway to develop recommendations for the use of AI in the educational process, establishing a culture and highlighting the pedagogical aspects of interaction with AI technologies.
