The article addresses the relevant issue of organizing
lexical material in teaching Russian as a foreign language
using the frame-based method. This approach involves
systematizing lexical units based on frames – thematically
organized structures that include key slots and associated
lexemes. Such organization not only facilitates better memorization
and reproduction of vocabulary but also helps foreign
students develop a holistic understanding of communicative
situations and the sociocultural realities of the Russian-speaking
environment. The aim of the study is to justify and develop
principles for selecting lexical units for educational frames
that reflect both linguistic and cultural features of the Russian
language. The article highlights five key principles: typology,
relevance, authenticity, anthropocentrism, and the consideration
of the linguistic and cultural component. Special attention
is given to incorporating the linguistic-cultural component,
which allows adapting educational material to the realities
of Russian life and cultural traditions. In practice, these
principles were implemented in creating an educational frame
on the topic “Russian national dish ‘Okroshka’.” Learners not
only studied the relevant vocabulary but also interacted with
material culture objects, which activated various perception channels and strengthened associative links. Results of the
post-frame survey showed that 78% of students successfully
mastered the presented lexical material, demonstrating an
understanding of both linguistic and cultural aspects. Thus,
the frame-based method combined with a linguistic-cultural
approach enables the creation of an effective teaching model
that contributes to the formation of intercultural competence.
The methodological recommendations presented in the article
may be useful for developing educational materials for different
language proficiency levels, taking into account the interests
and needs of foreign language learners. |
