The issues of the quality of training specialists do not lose their relevance; knowledge, technologies, social relations are changing, posing new challenges to education in terms of training personnel who are ready to work effectively in modern conditions. Empathy, as a complex quality that connects thinking, emotions and actions, is one of the key qualities that discredit the professional suitability of psychologists. Of particular importance is the understanding of the differences in the structure of empathy among students of various specialties and training profiles as a factor determining the quality of training of university graduates. As part of the study, it was hypothesized that the relationship between emotional intelligence and reflexivity among students of the specialty “Psychology of professional activity “ and students of the specialty “Clinical Psychology” differ. The study revealed that among students-psychologists of the specialty “Psychology of professional activity” there is a strong connection between emotional awareness and reflection of communication, as well as a weaker connection between emotional awareness and the final level of reflection. Students studying in the specialty “Clinical Psychology” have correlations between empathy and retrospective reflection of activities and between empathy and the final level of reflection, weaker links between emotional awareness and retrospective reflection of activities, emotion management and consideration of future activities, self-motivation and consideration of future activities, as well as between empathy and reflection of communication. It has been confirmed that the empathic profile and structure of the relationships of key professional qualities (empathy, emotional intelligence, reflexivity) differ among students of the specialties “Clinical Psychology” and “Psychology of professional activity.” The identified features (the tendency to negativism in assessing experience among clinical psychologists and the communicative orientation of reflection among job psychologists) are of direct importance for their future professional activities. The formation of an empathic profile can be considered as an important indicator of the potential quality of the future professional activities of a psychologist. The study confirms the need to individualize educational trajectories in psychological education, taking into account specialization. |
