This study examines the implementation of
a digital environment to increase production efficiency
in the crafts sector. The authors examine the concept
of a digital work environment in the current context, the
types of digital products on the market (such as AI, CRM,
ERP, and RPA systems), and identify challenges and risks in the custom clothing industry, as well as general trends
such as increased financial burdens, logistical difficulties,
the age of custom clothing artisans, and a lack of interest
among younger employees. The authors identify four key
challenges associated with the use of digital products in the
crafts sector: loss of authenticity, employee resistance, changing
consumer behavior and expectations, and high financial
risks. To address these challenges, a multi-stage research
design was developed and applied, sequentially integrating
theoretical, empirical, strategic, and project analysis methods.
We employed a theoretical and conceptual foundation:
a synthesis of interdisciplinary approaches, followed by a me-
thod of multiple comparative analysis of economic models for
implementing a digital environment. The next stage involved
conducting a comprehensive strategic audit: applying a set
of diagnostic frameworks to move from general trends to specific
recommendations for the Icon Suit studio. A detailed strategic
audit was conducted, based on the principle of “from
the external environment to internal competences” (PEST
analysis, SNW/SWOT analysis in conjunction with KFS analysis,
McKinsey 7S). The fourth stage included a digital maturity
assessment and tactical prioritization. During the fifth stage,
the target operating model was designed, and the financial
rationale for the results was developed. Using the system
of methodological tools developed by the authors increases
the reliability of prioritizing production efficiency improvements
in the craft industry through the implementation
of a digital environment and minimizing the human factor. |
