The development of the service economy, characterized by the predominance of the service sector in the country’s income structure, a shift in the focus of public employment to service industries, an increasing importance of information and communication technologies in society, a focus on highquality business performance, an increase in consumer spending and other characteristics, determine the further development of theoretical and methodological approaches to assessing the efficiency of a trading service. In conditions when the emphasis in the factors of choosing goods and services, their acquisition, consumption or use shifts from need (as an urgent need) to rational consumption (as a conscious approach to purchases and saving resources), combining the definitions of efficiency and value, in our opinion, becomes particularly relevant. The article forms the author’s approach to the diagnosis of the efficiency of a trading service through the disclosure of definitions of value and usefulness. Based on the conducted research, a theoretical substantiation of the relationship between the categories efficiency and value in the modern economy has been formed, aimed at building a balanced system of evaluation indicators in the interaction of producers and consumers of trading services. In the course of the conducted research, methods of information analysis and synthesis, comparison and interpretation of observation results, formulation of conclusions and hypotheses using formalization, and others were used. The validity of the results and main conclusions is ensured by the use of the works of domestic and foreign scientists in various fields of science engaged in the study of the value and efficiency of economic processes and phenomena. The formed provisions and the established interrelationships of the categories value and efficiency will make it possible to determine the system of indicators for assessing the efficiency of a trading service in the context of its usefulness and value both in relation to the inner world, for self-development, and in the external world of the enterprise from the perspective of consumers. |
