DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN THE AGRO-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX OF RUSSIA

Annotation:

The article discusses the current topic of the introduction of digital technologies at enterprises of the agro-industrial complex in Russia. The introduction of new terms such as ‘digital transformation’ and ‘digital maturity’ at the legislative level confirms the importance and seriousness of the implementation and further development of this area in agriculture. Currently, there is no unified methodology for assessing digitalization in agriculture, but researchers are making attempts to study the first results of the introduction of digital technologies at enterprises. The author examines the current state of digitalization in the agro-industrial complex and the main trends in its development. The article presents the results of a number of country development ratings in the field of digitalization. The ratings show that Russia should increase its potential for the growth of digital technologies in the agro-industrial complex. The article presents some of the results of digitalization in agriculture. The development and implementation of the Seed Production, Grain, and Mercury information systems have shown positive results, including the introduction of electronic document management and the ability to trace the movement of goods. Special attention was paid to the challenges of digitalization in the agro-industrial complex in today’s conditions, including the lack of qualified personnel, difficulties in technical equipment, the absence of digital infrastructure, and the uneven implementation of digitalization in different regions. The author proposes measures to improve digitalization in the agro-industrial complex, which are divided into four main areas: legislation, a unified information center, training, and digital infrastructure. The presented measures largely depend on the government support for digitalization of the agricultural sector in the country. In conclusion, the author emphasizes that the active development of digital technologies is an integral and key factor in the growth of the agro-industrial complex.
