Currently, a repetition of the school mathematics can be arranged through an intensive online course. The pedagogical aspects of designing such courses are not well developed and need further refinement and research. The experience of developing and testing an adaptive online math course is presented in paper. The object of research consists in the process of adaptation of students of the first year of study in undergraduate studies to the study of basic mathematical disciplines. The subject of the study is the creation of a resource that will make it possible to overcome the main contradiction between the heterogeneous level of mathematical preparation of first year students and the general requirements for mastering undergraduate programs in mathematical disciplines. The scientific novelty of the study is to develop a new approach to the adaptation of first-year students through an online course, which is designed on the idea of individualizing the learning process. The analysis of scientific publications on the individual approach to using of online resources in the teaching of mathematics is given. Much attention is paid to the presentation of educational information in ways that take into various types of cognitive processes: perception, memory and thinking. The practical significance of the work lies in the ability to use the described course to adapt first-year students of various universities to the study of higher mathematics, and the proposed design stages will help create a similar course in other disciplines.
