ENGINEERING PEDAGOGY: DESIGN TECHNOLOGIES IN THE COURSE OF THE HIGHER MATHEMATICS

Annotation:

The article discusses the prerequisites for rethinking the elements of didactics of modern engineering education. This is especially important in the block of natural sciences of technical universities. The potential of design technologies to achieve the goals of engineering pedagogy, the tasks set by society in front of the education system is determined. It is noted that the proportion of classes conducted in active forms is determined by the purpose of the educational program, the objectives of the discipline, and the peculiarity of the contingent of students. The trends of innovative educational practices and technologies, the development of higher education in a strategic perspective, based on information opportunities, were identified. The results of foreign researchers confirm that design technologies supported by information tools make it possible to organize educational cooperation and to show additional motivation in achieving the educational goal. The actual direction of pedagogical research is determined — the didactic foundations of modern engineering pedagogy. The theoretical significance and practical orientation of the developed author’s technology models, focused on the formation of universal competencies in the design activities of junior students in the study of the block of natural sciences, is shown. The model “Technologies of dynamic interdisciplinary projects”, its purpose, psychological and pedagogical aspects, subjects of application and a meaningful description are considered. Recommendations are formulated for the practical application of the technology presented. The subject matter of a dynamic educational research project is projected onto future professional activities. Assignments may be uniform or varied. In projects, it is advisable to offer real source data. Each project is implemented by a team in which, at the personal request of the students, a leader, designer, designer, IT specialist, calculator is selected, but with the corrective opinion of the teacher. The author’s experience in implementing various forms of design technologies in the course of higher mathematics is analyzed and generalized. The considered model can be used in pedagogical practice, in research to improve the educational process.
