Competitive advantages in modern conditions are achieved as a result of the implementation of innovations. At the same time, innovation is acceptable to organizations of any size and type. The innovation policy of the organization goes from a private task to a strategic goal and is a tool for improving the competitiveness of the organization. Innovative processes should determine the strategic line of development of the organization. The importance of the study stems from the growing influence of the need to plan innovation at any level and for each stage. The article reveals the priority issues in innovation policy. The importance of solving the problems of innovation policy of the organization is noted not only in the crisis period and remote perspective, but also in everyday work. The paper highlights the types of innovation policy of the organization, as well as developed a set of measures necessary for the formation and successful achievement of the intended results of innovation policy. When analyzing the innovative environment of the enterprise, factors were taken into account that allow objectively assessing the innovative potential of the organization. An organization’s innovation policy should not be considered only in terms of creating new products. Innovations in management are associated with new generating ideas, their selection, strategy development, as well as innovative potential, which includes human, technical, material, information and other opportunities that allow the organization to achieve competitive advantages. In the dynamic conditions of the modern economy, it is important to reorient its activities in a timely manner, taking into account new developments, and this is possible in the presence of a periodically updated portfolio of innovative ideas. The most difficult problem in this regard is the timely comparison of the results achieved with the previously set goals.
