The article analyzes the production of milk and meat in the livestock sector of the Republic of Tatarstan and states that the Republic of Tatarstan ranks 28th in the country in terms of cow productivity, while the highest rate over the past 5 years has been observed on average in the amount of 6730 kg per cow. The number of cows has decreased by 7.6 %, growing and fattening cattle — by 8.5 %. The main promising areas of digitalization of the livestock industry are identified, which consists in a system for monitoring the condition of animals, automation and robotization of production processes, the introduction of an animal identification system, digitalization of the organization of production and management. In order to determine the effectiveness of the introduction of digital technologies, the economic efficiency of using robotic installations in the livestock industry has been calculated. An example of a computerized control system is the Israeli company S.A.E. The study of dynamics of robotic dairy farms in the Republic of Tatarstan shows that, subject to the necessary conditions for keeping cattle, their productivity in the context of the introduction of digital technologies increases by 15 %. The technology fully pays for itself in a short time, while the profitability of production will be approximately 30 %. Payback, depending on the type of digital technology, can range from 4 months to 4 years. The paper concludes that in the conditions of food sovereignty, the introduction of digital technologies in agriculture, in particular in the livestock industry, makes it possible to automate and carry out the main scientific and technical processes in established modes; regulate the lighting, as well as the microclimate, clean and disinfect buildings and contribute to an increase in the economic efficiency of production.
