In addition to developing practical skills, working with a horse provides for courage, dexterity and strength. General and special physical training of an equestrian athlete is a prerequisite for the fastest achievement of high performance in equestrian sports (show jumping, dressage, horse racing). Coaching staff in equestrian sports pay insufficient attention to the development of special motor abilities in young riders in terms of the development of complex coordination abilities. This causes deterioration in the quality of their technical training. In this regard, there remains a need to actively search for effective approaches to solving the problem of increasing the special coordination readiness of adolescent riders in equestrian sports. The article deals with the issues of organization and management of the process of developing the coordination abilities in young equestrian athletes. The literatures on this topic, program-normative and methodological materials are analyzed. Theoretical and methodological issues considering the physical training of young riders in equestrian sports are studied. Scientific and pedagogical research is conducted. A set of special physical exercises is suggested to improve the difficult coordination qualities in older teenage riders. A pedagogical experiment has been carried out that meets all the requirements for this kind of scientific research. The criteria for the development of complex coordination abilities of the trainees of the control and experimental groups according to the contingents of the surveyed boys and girls are identified. In the course of the study, the effectiveness of the proposed approach is experimentally substantiated, confirmed by the use of mathematically reliable methods. New experimental data are obtained to improve the educational and training process for equestrian teenagers aged 14—15 in equestrian sports. The conclusions and practical recommendations solving the tasks of this study are formulated
