PREDICTIVE APPROACH TO FOREIGN LANGUAGE EDUCATION IN THE FRAMEWORK OF TRAINING NAVIGATORS

Annotation:

The main aspects of teaching a foreign language within the framework of a communicative orientation are explored. The relevance of this study is determined by the demand of society for high-quality training of future navigators who speak English in relation to maritime safety. It is noted that proficiency in English by a future navigator is a required condition for obtaining high results in career growth. Insufficient language training does not allow a candidate to pass an interview, and the language barrier will become a problem in professional communication. An analysis of the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education, specialty 05.26.05 “Navigation” (specialty level) is made. It shows that among the required skills, a command of English to the extent necessary to fulfill one`s functional duties. Therefore, the purpose of this work is to study the role of a predictive approach to foreign language education in the quality training of navigators. The following theoretical methods are used: analysis, synthesis, generalization, deduction, analogy. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the application of a predictive approach to foreign language education in the quality training of navigators. The theoretical significance of the work lies in the fact that the role of a predictive approach to teaching future navigators a foreign language is considered. The practical significance of the work is in the possibility of applying the research results in the professional training of future navigators. Forms of teaching a foreign language are proposed to develop oral and written communication skills in a foreign language to solve problems of professional activity. It is concluded that forecasting in foreign language education involves studying trends, patterns of development of the maritime industry, as well as identifying ways to solve problems by improving the quality of education.
