The article is devoted to the description of the socio-cultural model of mastering IT technologies by older people in improving socio-cultural interaction and presents an approach that aims to help the older generation master digital skills, which will help strengthen their socio-cultural ties. This model assumes the creation of conditions that allow older people to get involved in the process of mastering IT technologies, gain new knowledge and interact with different age groups through a variety of socio-cultural practices. The study concludes that productive interaction between all participants of leisure online classes is established through the step-by-step implementation of planned technological results within the framework of mastering IT technologies by students of the “Silver University”. According to the author, the main condition for the implementation of the model of mastering IT technologies by older people in improving socio-cultural interaction is the enrichment of the virtual technological environment with theoretical and practical materials, as well as the constant replenishment of “useful” links on the program. According to the results of the completed program, the listener receives not only the knowledge and skills specified in it, but also expands their digital horizons by creating a thematic information eco-environment. It should be noted that the use of IT technologies has a positive effect on the socio-cultural interaction of older people. They become more active participants in communication; have access to new sources of information and demonstrations of their creative products, which contributes to the development of their social network of communication and maintaining stable ties. The developed socio-cultural model of mastering IT technologies by older people makes it possible to improve socio-cultural interaction and the quality of life of older people.
