CONSTITUTIONAL AND LEGAL STATUS OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA

Annotation:

The article examines the constitutional and legal status of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria. In the course of the research, the author conducted an analysis, determining the essence of different aspects of the President’s constitutional and legal status, as well as his/her place and role in the system of public authorities. At the same time both general scientific and specific scientific methods of cognition were used. Among general scientific methods, induction, systemic analysis and deduction were used in the study. Among specific scientific methods of cognition, formal legal, historical and legal, systemic and structural, and analytical methods were used. As a result, the study identifies the procedure for electing the President of the Republic of Bulgaria and the requirements for candidates for this post, as well as ways to determine the winner if none of the candidates received proper support. At the same time, the study thoroughly examines the list of official powers of the head of state and the essence of their inviolability. A list of grounds for terminating the powers of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria is also determined. At the same time, the scientific novelty of the work is expressed in establishing the position and role of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria in the system of branches of state power, determining the features of the constituent elements of his/ her constitutional and legal status, as well as identifying the essence and boundaries of the immunity of the head of state, the list of grounds for termination of his/her powers and the coming constitutional legal consequences. In general, the conclusions obtained as a result of the study can be applied by government bodies or individual officials in the course of exercising their own powers, as well as used by higher educational institutions in organizing and conducting the educational process within the framework of the academic disciplines “Constitutional Law of Russia”, “Constitutional Law of Foreign States”.
