FORMATION STAGES OF A NEW MODEL FOR DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION MANAGEMENT OF TRANSPORT ENTERPRISES

Annotation:

The task of digital transformation of the Russian economy and its most important infrastructure the transport industry — is currently one of the most important national priorities. The main goal of digitalization of the transport industry is to create a national intelligent transport system. The article shows that this process is hampered by the old concept of the industry enterprise management system. In turn, one of the reasons is that the theoretical aspects of the logic of formation and practical transition to a new management model are not sufficiently developed. In practice, this leads to the substitution of qualitative transformations — digitization of data, partial digitalization and more complete automation. The study identifies five stages in the process of forming a new management model: (1) strategic vision; (2) assessment of the digital maturity of the enterprise; (3) training of human capital and provision of other resources; (4) creation of a process roadmap for a given enterprise; (5) implementation of the roadmap (creation of digital products and benefits; a new business model; a new technology for the production of services). The most important tool at all five stages is the management team’s clear awareness of the objective necessity of digitalization not just as a matter of individual digitization, but in connection with the creation of a project team, including its own managers and external consultants. Compliance with the presented logic allows us to accelerate the transition to a new model of transport enterprise management, which is the most important tool for its digital transformation. The findings can be used in the practice of enterprises in the transport industry at the level of developing roadmaps for full automation and digital transformation projects. The further direction of research is related to the development of a model for new competences of management teams — a factor in accelerating the digital transformation of the country’s transport sector.
