this article evaluates the effectiveness of using
ChatGPT as a “digital coach” in powerlifting training and substantiates
the pedagogical feasibility of personalized plans
and reports generated based on athlete data. The theoretical
significance of the study lies in refining approaches to digital
support for strength training, where the language model is considered
not only as a program generator but also as a means
of interpretable feedback, integrating microcycle planning, technique
analysis, and competition tactics with mandatory coaching
verification. The practical significance of the study lies
in the development of a diagnostic system for monitoring powerlifters’
athletic performance using five indicators, suitable for
student teams and sports clubs. The experimental part was conducted
on a sample of 25 student powerlifters who used ChatGPT
for six months for individual support: weekly uploading a training
log, making 1-2 video recordings of key sets, and recei-
ving feedback with a phase analysis of errors, recommendations,
and plans. Effectiveness was assessed by comparing the dynamics
of indicators with the previous six months for the same athletes
and statistically testing the differences. Improvements were
obtained across all five indicators: the total triathlon result
increased from 2.4% to 4.8%, the variability of the total result
across 4-5 competitions decreased, the proportion of erroneous
weight entries and technical failures decreased, and the accuracy
of the “planned total actual total” forecast increased. The conditions
for the effective and safe use of ChatGPT such as standardized
video recording, complete training metadata, query context,
and weekly coaching verification are formulated, and directions
for further research for their factorial validation are outlined. |
