The paper presents a historiographical analysis
of the genesis of the definition of the teacher’s digital culture
within the context of the technological transformation
of Russian education (1980-2025) and the evolution of its
determining categories, aiming to identify the core characteristics
of the concept. The methodology comprised historical-
genetic and comparative analysis of conceptual
constructs, which enabled the examination of continuity
and interdependence between successively evolving concepts.
Three stages in the definition’s evolution are identified
and synchronized with shifts in technological paradigms
(computerization, informatization, and digitalization).
The teacher’s digital culture is defined as a metacategory
formed through a non-linear process of substantive expansion
and synthesis of four key determining categories: computer
literacy, information literacy, information culture,
and digital literacy. Factors of semantic volatility are established:
technological determinism, changes in the regulatory
framework, and socio-cultural challenges.
The scientific novelty lies in developing an original periodization
and systematization of the concept’s evolution, linked
to the stages of technological development in Russian education
from 1980 to 2025, and in identifying the factors of its semantic
volatility.
The conducted analysis confirms that the evolution
of the concept reflects a general logic of transition from
instrumental mastery of technologies to the value-semantic
integration of digital practices into professional pedagogical
culture. This conclusion is crucial for designing modern programs
for teachers’ professional development. The research
creates a theoretical foundation for overcoming methodological
contradictions and creating models to develop digital
culture among educators within the framework of additional
professional education. This will contribute to achieving
a qualitatively new level of readiness among teaching staff
for effective activity within the continuously evolving digital
educational environment. |
