The purpose of the work is to reveal the qualitative
originality of the essence and content of the sports
culture among younger schoolchildren. To achieve this
goal, materials of modern studies of domestic and foreign
scientists, presented in monographs, in publications in peerreviewed
scientific journals, were used. The sports culture
of younger schoolchildren is considered as an integral personal
characteristic that determines their attitude to physical
activity in the form of physical exercises performed in
competition conditions. Educational activity is gradually
becoming the leading one for children of primary school age.
The qualitative
originality of the sports culture of younger
schoolchildren is due to the age-related features of the development
of the motivational sphere. Younger schoolchildren
are dominated by emotionally attractive internal procedural
motives, realized in physical activity and in communication:
socialization, gaming, competitive, cognitive. Sports are perceived
by children not as professional activity, not as activity
aimed at achieving success in the form of victory or high
competitive records, but as a way of organizing physical
activity, ensuring harmonious personal development, health
promotion, socialization and saturation of gaming, cognitive
and competitive motives. Along with this, younger schoolchildren
are not yet ready for self-reflection; they are not
capable of remote goal-setting and planning, and experience
difficulties in arbitrary regulation of activities. The tendency
to fantasy, the desire for imitation, and the interest in collective
games remain. The content of sports culture absorbed
by younger schoolchildren includes values (health, friendship,
honesty and respect for the opponent); knowledge
of sports, rules, norms of sports behavior, the benefits
of physical activity; sports behavior
skills, motor skills,
as well as traditions that encourage and guide physical
activity in the format of sports activities. Therefore, the formation
of a sports culture in primary school age is a significant
factor in the effective use of the educational potential of
sports in the personal and physical development of childr en. |
