ASSESSMENT OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCES OF THE HEAD OF AN EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATION AT THE STAGE OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Annotation: Continuity of professional growth of management staff is ensured by the constant improvement of leaders’ skills at all stages of continuous professional education. The most po- pular form is a targeted short-term advanced training program developed taking into account the individual needs of students. The article aims to outline the specifics and demonstrate the outcomes of assessing the professional competences of an educational organization’s leader. at the stage of advanced training. The results of the study indicate that the content and forms of advanced training courses contribute to the development of professional competences of managers and overcoming their deficiency areas identified in the process of preliminary and final diagnostics. The implementation of advanced training courses for managers on the design of a development program for an educational organization has made it possible to increase the level of such components of managerial competences as the ability to manage the development of a general education organization taking into account the legal norms; organize the development, adjustment and approval of basic educational programs; manage the development, updating and approval of local regulatory acts of a general education organization; implement social partnership with local and business communities, cultural, leisure and sports organizations, and other educational organizations; conduct a SWOT analysis and self-assessment of a general education organization, provide an internal system for assessing its quality; create a positive image of the educational organization. Working in management teams during the implementation of the courses allowed developing the ability to manage activities to create conditions for the socialization of students and individualization of learning; form and maintain the organizational culture of a general education organization; promote the activities of public associations of students, employees of a general education organization, etc. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the substantiation of the organizational and pedagogical conditions under which the diagnostics of the professional competences of the head of an educational organization at the stage of advanced training becomes an element of the system of his continuous professional development. The practical significance lies in the possibility of using the research results for professional development of heads of educational organizations, as well as organizations implementing additional professional education programs.
