The article examines the social activity of students
as an indicator of their involvement in the social life
of the region. The relevance of the research is determined
by the processes of integration of the educational and social
space of the Zaporozhye region, within which the importance
of youth as a resource of social integration and regional development
is increasing. The purpose of the study is to analyze
the social activity of students as an indicator of their involvement
in the social life of the Zaporozhye region. The methodological
basis of the study was the analysis of domestic scientific papers
on the social activity of youth, regulatory documents in the field
of youth policy, as well as the results of a sociological survey
of students from one of the universities in the region. The empirical
study was conducted using a questionnaire method; 50 undergraduate
and graduate students participated in the survey.
The results of the study showed that students’ social activity
is characterized by a predominance of average levels
of engagement and is implemented mainly in the forms of vo-
lunteer and project activities, institutionally supported
by the educational and youth environment. The factors limiting
the transition from episodic forms of participation to sustainable
models of social activity are identified. In addition,
the data obtained indicate that there is a relationship between
the level of social activity of students and indicators of their
social integration.
It is concluded that the social activity of the student youth
of the Zaporozhye region is developing and reflects the positive
dynamics of its involvement in the public life of the region.
The results obtained can be used as an analytical basis for considering
issues of improving regional youth policy programs
and developing mechanisms to support students’ social activity. |
