The subject of this work is the study and development
of a criteria framework for assessing students’
social literacy as a dynamic ability that is formed and manifested
directly in the practices of joint activities within the
system of additional education for children (AEC). Particular
attention is paid to resolving the contradiction between
theoretical models of social literacy and the lack of assessment
tools that correspond to the essential characteristics
of the informal, practice-oriented AEC environment. The main
goal of the study is to develop and theoretically substantiate
such a criteria framework, embedded in the logic of AEC
activities. To achieve this, the work employs an adapted lesson study methodology, focused on structured observation of student
behavior in natural situations of choice, cooperation,
and dialogue. A distinctive feature of the conducted research
is the integration of theoretical approaches to studying social
literacy with the observation method, enabling a shift from
assessing formal knowledge to analyzing real social actions.
As a result, a criteria framework is proposed and tested, comprising
three interconnected components: instrumental (contextual
application of knowledge), regulatory-orientational (re-
asoned value-based choice), and action-resultative (coordination
and proactivity). Testing in interest-based groups (“Robotics
and Engineering School,” “UAV School”) confirmed
the validity of the framework and its ability to capture qualitative
behavioral changes that are not detected by standardized tests.
It is important to emphasize the practical significance
of the work: the developed toolkit is ready for use by AEC teachers
to monitor personal development outcomes and to design an
educational environment that purposefully fosters social literacy.
This facilitates a shift from diagnosing knowledge to assessing
the capacity for social action in real-life interaction situations. |
