The article is devoted to the study of family torture
in terms of its social danger in combination with other crimes
against the person, criminological assessment of torture as one
of the types of domestic violence, the study of the criminological
risks of family torture in order to victimologically protect victims
from domestic violence, and the development of proposals
for the prevention of domestic violence. In 75% of cases in Russia,
women suffer from domestic violence, and in marriages, this figure
increases to 91%. In 2024, about 2,000 children in Russia suffered
from domestic violence. In total, in 2024, more than 21,000 crimes
against children were investigated, among them torture accounts
for 0.5%, i.e. torture accounts for 2.1% of all crimes, which is
a significant indicator and underlines the relevance of studying
and developing measures to prevent beatings and torture, which
have not been fully developed to date. Moreover, beatings and torture
have become the most widespread crimes in the family and
household sphere. Recently, a difficult situation has been develo-
ping in the Russian Federation as a whole and in its regions
in particular, due to the increased detection of cases of intrafamily
violence. The structure of crimes in the field of family
violence shows that family torture occupies a significant share
among other types of violence in the family and household sphere.
They are often associated with crimes such as beatings, death
threats, and injury to health of varying severity. In general criminal
statistics, the proportion of family torture may seem relatively
small, but its social significance and negative impact on individuals and society are extremely high, which requires special attention
to this category of crimes. An important area of prevention is
the introduction of educational programs aimed at preventing domestic
violence, as well as rehabilitation measures for aggressors. |
