Annotation:

The present article is dedicated to the problem of small business development. The main goal of the article is to demonstrate that the Russian small companies have enough inner potential and outer preconditions to show strategic activity for competitive development. Standard development stages of any business – concentrating on the core business, vertical integration and diversification – are considered as manageable tools of strategic development that should be integrated into the competitive strategy of a small company. The article describes how small company’s head can control those processes to achieve company’s strategic goals.
