Annotation:

The paper provides characteristics of the middle class in the classical concepts of stratification. The article contains a comparative description of the theoretical views by Karl Marx and Max Weber concerning occurrence of the middle class. The article shows the variations of the class analysis by E. Wright and J. Goldthorpe specifying and developing the theory about the middle class. It is concluded that the emergence of the middle class is defined by the incomes transfer between the main participants of the social and economic structure of the society. Besides, the growth of well-being of the middle class provides for the growth of the entire economics.
