Annotation:

The article describes the place marketing strategies implemented in the management of the tourist destination. It substantiates the role of tourism in development of the territory, as well as the use of place marketing concept for the strategic planning of tourist destinations. Volgograd region and Volgograd are characterized from the point of the problems and prospects of the tourism industry; description of the main tourist resources of the region is given; the strategic guidelines for improving its tourism potential are described. The role of investment management and formation of investment attractiveness of the territory as the most important strategic way of its development is proved.
