Annotation:

The article examines evolution of the category of good faith in foreign law. The author performed brief historical digression in the European law analyzing the origin of the category of good faith, its development, as well as its the importance and value in modern European law. The author analyzes the legislation of Rome, France, Germany, Italy, and England from the point of view of development of the good faith in the law. Two meanings of the good faith are distinguished in the article: the good faith in its subjective meaning and in its objective meaning. Besides, the good faith is compared in different European legal families.
